How to customise your dashboard
Last updated: 7 May 2026
What this does
Build a personalised dashboard by adding, removing, and rearranging widgets. Your dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your work — tasks, projects, calendar, performance metrics, and more.
Current access and functionality
- Verified against the current
impact-web,impact-client, andimpact-marketplacecode on 2026-05-07. - In
impact-web, users must be signed in and working in an active workspace. Navigation and write actions are role-, permission-, and entitlement-aware; unavailable modules are hidden or disabled instead of being universally visible.
Before you start
- You must be logged in to IMPACT Web.
- Your dashboard starts with a default layout based on your role (admins see workspace-focused widgets; staff see task-focused widgets).
Steps
Entering edit mode
- Navigate to My Dashboard (or click the Home icon).
- Click the Edit button to enter edit mode.
- A Widget Palette appears as a floating window.
Adding widgets
- In the Widget Palette, browse widgets by category:
- Personal — Bio tile, AI Summariser, Calendar, IPA score, Personal Tasks, Assigned Tasks
- Workspace — AI Summariser, Member list, Performance Metrics
- Project — Bookmarked Projects, Burndown, Milestone Overview, Milestone List, Task List, Performance Metrics
- Team — Team List, Performance Metrics
- Custom — AI Infographic (available on supported plans)
- Drag a widget from the palette onto the dashboard grid.
- The widget snaps into place on the 12-column grid.
Rearranging and resizing widgets
- Drag any widget to move it to a different position on the grid.
- Resize a widget by dragging its edges. Each widget type has minimum and maximum size constraints.
Removing widgets
- In edit mode, click the remove icon on the widget you want to delete.
- The widget is removed from your dashboard.
Saving your layout
- Click Save to persist your layout.
- Your layout is saved to your profile and will be there next time you log in.
- To discard unsaved changes, click Cancel or leave edit mode without saving.
Resetting to default
- In edit mode, click Reset to Default.
- Your dashboard reverts to the role-based default layout.
Tips
- You can have a maximum of 10 widgets on your dashboard. Choose the ones most relevant to your daily work.
- Start with the Assigned Tasks and Calendar widgets — these give you the quickest overview of what needs your attention today.
- Project managers should add Bookmarked Projects and Burndown widgets for quick project health checks.
- The dashboard layout is personal — each user has their own layout that does not affect others.
Common issues
- Issue: Cannot add more widgets — Fix: You have reached the 10-widget limit. Remove a widget you use less often to make space.
- Issue: Widget shows no data — Fix: Some widgets need context (e.g., the Project Burndown widget needs you to bookmark a project first). Check the widget's requirements.
- Issue: Layout did not save — Fix: Make sure you clicked Save before leaving edit mode. Navigating away without saving discards changes.
