How to complete the IMPACT onboarding process

Last updated: 7 May 2026

What this does

Explains the current IMPACT Web onboarding experience. The active onboarding surface is the Get Started quick tour and coachmark flow, not the older payment, invoicing, and customer import checklist.

Current access and functionality

  • Verified against the current impact-web, impact-client, and impact-marketplace code on 2026-05-07.
  • Onboarding is available in impact-web after sign-in and after the user has an active workspace.
  • The Get Started page is role-aware. Admins see setup actions such as inviting members, organising teams, and creating projects; staff see member-oriented guidance.
  • Progress is stored per user and synced through the app's onboarding/coachmark state.
  • Payment setup, invoicing defaults, customer import, and first invoice steps are not part of the current onboarding flow in the target apps.

Before you start

  • You must have an IMPACT account and an active workspace.
  • Admin-only steps require company owner/admin access in at least one active workspace.
  • Some tour items depend on existing data, such as projects or teams.

The current quick tour

The current Get Started tour uses these seven guide steps:

Steps

  1. Open Get Started from the sidebar when it is available.
  2. Select the next available tour item.
  3. Follow the coachmark prompts on the relevant page.
  4. Complete the required action, such as viewing workspace essentials, inviting a member, visiting teams, creating or exploring a project, or visiting the dashboard.
  5. Return to Get Started to confirm progress.
  6. Continue until all visible steps are complete.

Common issues

  • Issue: Get Started is not visible. Fix: The user may have completed onboarding, may not have an active workspace, or may have no unlocked onboarding items.
  • Issue: An admin action is locked for a staff user. Fix: Admin-only onboarding tasks require company owner/admin access.
  • Issue: The user is looking for payment or invoice setup. Fix: Those older onboarding steps are not present in the current target apps.
