How to switch workspaces
Last updated: 7 May 2026
What this does
Switch between different companies or workspaces you belong to. If you are a member of multiple organisations in IMPACT, you can move between them without logging out.
Current access and functionality
- Verified against the current
impact-web,impact-client, andimpact-marketplacecode on 2026-05-07. - In
impact-web, users must be signed in and working in an active workspace. Navigation and write actions are role-, permission-, and entitlement-aware; unavailable modules are hidden or disabled instead of being universally visible.
Steps
- Look at the top bar of the IMPACT Web interface.
- Click the workspace switcher (shows the name of your current workspace).
- A dropdown appears listing all workspaces you are a member of.
- Select the workspace you want to switch to.
- The interface reloads with the selected workspace's data — projects, teams, members, and settings all change to reflect the new workspace.
Tips
- Your most recently used workspace is remembered, so you will return to it on your next login.
- Each workspace has its own projects, teams, settings, and permissions. Your role may differ between workspaces (e.g., admin in one, staff in another).
- If you have been invited to a new workspace via email, accept the invitation first — the workspace will then appear in your switcher.
Common issues
- Issue: A workspace is missing from the switcher — Fix: You may not have accepted the invitation yet. Check your email for a workspace invitation link. If you have already accepted, ask the workspace admin to verify your membership.
- Issue: My permissions are different in another workspace — Fix: This is by design. Each workspace manages its own roles and permissions independently. Contact that workspace's admin if you need different access.
