Understanding the IMPACT Web layout
Last updated: 7 May 2026
What this does
Gets users familiar with the current IMPACT Web interface, navigation, and access rules.
Current access and functionality
- Verified against the current
impact-web,impact-client, andimpact-marketplacecode on 2026-05-07. - Users must be signed in and working in an active workspace.
- Sidebar items are role-, permission-, feature-flag-, and entitlement-aware. Missing menu items usually mean the user is not permitted, not entitled, or the feature is disabled for the workspace.
Layout overview
Left navigation bar
The left sidebar is the main navigation. Depending on access, it can include:
- Get Started - onboarding and quick-tour checklist.
- My Dashboard - personal dashboard widgets and summaries.
- My Tasks - assigned and personal task work.
- My Surveys - surveys assigned to the user.
- Projects / Playbooks - project lists, templates/playbooks, tasks, milestones, risks, teams, surveys, Gantt-style planning, and import options.
- Members - member directory, member profile, entitlement views, and AI employee settings where available.
- Teams - team management and team task views.
- Checklists - checklist templates, checklist builder, marketplace inventory import, and checklist usage in tasks.
- Competency / Scorecard - competency frameworks, ratings, and performance score views where enabled.
- Surveys / Questionnaires - survey campaign management, questionnaire builder, versions, responses, and results.
- Channels - unified inbox, topics, channel accounts, AI settings, messaging, and channel dashboard where the workspace is entitled.
- Scheduler - scheduler job and log views for permitted operators/admins.
- Knowledgebase - workspace knowledgebase search when the workspace is entitled.
- Challenges, FAQ, tickets, and operations pages - shown only when enabled for the user's role.
Marketplace browsing itself lives in impact-marketplace. In impact-web, marketplace access appears as import or open-marketplace actions from checklists, projects/playbooks, risks, competencies, and questionnaires.
Top bar
The top bar contains workspace selection, global search, notifications, subscription/entitlement entry points, theme and language controls, and the profile menu. Some controls move into the user menu on smaller screens.
Main content area
Most pages use a split list/detail or dashboard layout with filters, sorters, pagination, tabs, and action buttons. Create/edit/delete/import actions are hidden or disabled when the permission matrix or entitlement checks do not allow them.
Tips
- Use the workspace selector first when data looks incomplete; most lists are scoped to selected workspaces.
- If a feature is locked, check both role permission and subscription entitlement.
- Marketplace template import is usually started from the feature that will receive the template, such as Checklists, Projects, Risks, Competency, or Questionnaires.
Common issues
- Issue: Some navigation items are missing. Fix: Check the user's workspace role, selected workspace, feature flags, and subscription entitlements.
- Issue: The interface looks different from a colleague's. Fix: IMPACT customises navigation by role, selected workspace, permissions, and available feature modules.
- Issue: The Marketplace menu is not in the web sidebar. Fix: Use the marketplace URL or the feature-specific import actions in web.
